LOCATING || Self Initiated || Context & Influences

I have tried to draw inspiration from a variety of different artists, designers and specialisms throughout this project, to extract and combine ideas together to create something unique. In the past week or so i have been homing in on my concept for this project, which i see as an exploration into the translation of illustration to fashion, how can i combine bold graphics with fluid body shapes and create a unique narrative through a fashion collection?

I recently discovered the work of Beth Postle, a 2015 graduate from Central St Martins. I was immediately drawn to her expressive and illustrative style and was so amazed to see the confidence in her individuality. The idea of translating narrative illustration through fashion is my main concept for this project and a trend i have actually discovered to be quite forth coming in the current fashion movement, with designers from Giamba to Mark Jacobs all expressing through an illustrative style.
