Weeks 1 & 2
After being split into our groups, our first task was to create a series of mood boards which demonstrated our initial ideas and directions, this was quite a daunting task as no one in our group had met before, however i was pleasantly surprised at how well we were already working together. Combing research we had gathered in the library with our collective information on the James Long brand, we decided that we would use a sports theme to drive our ideas, we soon decided to use motocross as the instigator for our project, extending into mechanics and mechanical technology. Our presentation of ideas to Tom went really well and he seemed to be on board with the direction we had chosen, which was a great boost for us as a group. Our plans for the remainder of the week are to initially spend time individually gathering a body of primary and contextual research, to provide us with a broad and extensive basis to develop from.
