UNIT X | Styling

For our styling session we all brought in garments that where relevant to our collection, so that we could extract shape and detail information, using generic garments such as shirts, jersey tops, bomber jackets, t shirts , jumpers and shorts. We started by photographing the garments individually and then gradually began to layer up the items, creating different combinations and fittings. After the session i used tracing paper to draw over the garment combinations, focusing on zips, fastenings and thread markings. After the session i spent some time conducting further garment research and drawing from them, to gain a stronger understanding of the garments we were working with.

As well as styling with generic garments we also used images that Anne had gathered from a trip to a motorbike clothing store, to provide us with garment responses straight from the motocross clothing themselves, paying particular detail to paneling, pockets and the protective armour used within the garments.
